If the device was encrypted with file mode you will be notified that all encrypted files will be deleted. Select the encrypted disk in the drive list.

Click Removable Media\Removable Media Encryption.

If the removable media is encrypted in file mode, be sure to copy any required data from the encrypted folder since the unencryption process will delete it.

If you have any encrypted optical media that you require access to again, then you should make plain copies of the data before removing EEE.

Select the virtual disk in the list and click Unmount if it is currently mounted.

Click Virtual Disks\Virtual Disk Manager.

Right-click the EEE icon in the system tray.

Mount the virtual disk and copy any data you require from it.

Verify the extracted folder contains the files you require and delete the archive.

Select a destination path and click OK to extract the archive contents.

Click ESET Endpoint Encryption → Extract here or Extract to.

Alternatively, click No and delete the encrypted version once you verify the data has been successfully decrypted.

To delete the original file automatically, click Yes when you are prompted to delete the encrypted version.

Select ESET Endpoint Encryption → Decrypt file with ESET Endpoint Encryption.

Alternatively, you can manually delete the folder with the name ending (EEE Backup) once you verify the data has been successfully decrypted.

Deselect the check box next to Leave encrypted backup on the final page of the wizard to remove the encrypted copy of the folder automatically.

Follow the steps in the wizard to create a decrypted copy.

Select ESET Endpoint Encryption → Decrypt Folder with ESET Endpoint Encryption.

If this is the case and the system is not managed by an ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE) Server, you should ensure you make a backup of the key-file as detailed here: How do I backup my Key-File? If the system will be used again after reinstalling, or possibly by another user with the same encryption keys, then this step may not be required.
